Self-Portrait Clay Tiles

Materials: Clay, Gel Pen, Picture, tracer shape, carving tools, glaze

Step 1: Roll out your clay about 1 1/2cm thick.

 Step 2: Use the tracer to cut the shape of the tile.

Step 3: Take a photo, print it, and use a gel pen to outline all the lines on the face.

Step 4: Turn the photo upside down and gently rub the ink onto the clay surface. 

Step 5-Peel back the picture to see the line on the clay surface.

Step 6- Use a variety of tools to carve the lines into the clay.

Step 7 & 8: Fire the tiles, glaze and fire again.
